Laboratory and pilot test.
Pilot testing and industrial validation.
As a direct extension of our engineering expertise in CFD, mechanical design, process integration, and automation, Plenesys conducts pilot-scale experimental campaigns on its 100 kW test bench. These trials validate the performance of both the plasma torch and the methane pyrolysis process under representative industrial conditions, including compatibility with diverse gas feeds such as flared gas, biogas, or client-specific mixtures. Operating parameters are then adjusted and optimized to meet defined process requirements.
In parallel, we perform dedicated torch-only tests in controlled environments to evaluate thermal behaviour and arc stability under demanding conditions. The data generated during these campaigns forms a robust technical foundation for design optimization, reliable integration into existing installations, and efficient scale-up from pilot to full industrial deployment.
Complete testing of Hyplasma 100kW.
Plenesys conducts comprehensive pyrolysis campaigns on its HyPlasma 100 kW test bench to evaluate your gas composition (pure CH₄ or tailored mixtures) under representative operating conditions. These campaigns allow measurement and analysis of:

The conversion rate of methane to hydrogen and solid carbon.
The energy consumption per kg of H₂,
The stability of the plasma in continuous operation.
The detailed composition of the outlet gases (H₂, CO, CO₂, residual CH₄, C₂H₂).
Each test results in a customized report that includes operating data, co-product analysis, technical recommendations, and design parameters. The testing protocol can be adapted to your specific objectives (pressure, composition, throughput) and can serve as a foundation for a feasibility study into the pre-engineering phase.
